Personalized chocolate bars / Barras de chocolate personalizadas

Recently I've noticed a new wave of "choose your ingredients" bars (salads, frozen yoghurt, wok, pizza), and I was thinking there should be a similar concept in chocolate bars. There's tons of options you can choose from and there might be a combination you'd like to try but isn't available on the market.

I know it's possible to make the bars because they sell the chocolate to melt and with a good freezer, the bar could be ready in minutes (maybe this could be mixed with an online ordering system, say you plan to go watch a movie and are in the mood for a 70% dark chocolate with cranberries and almonds, buy the tickets online, order the chocolate bar and you are set).

The entrepreneur probablye needs to be into sweets and have a good eye for combinations to suggest to clients and make a good menu. Some ingredients I think you should have:

En los últimos años he notado una nueva ola de barras para "elegir nuestros propios ingredientes" (ensaladas, yoghurt congelado, comida asiática, pizza), y estaba pensando que debería existir este concepto aplicado a las barras de chocolate. Hay muchas opciones a elegir y posiblemente hay una combinación que has pensado y no está disponible en el mercado.

Sé que es posible hacer estas barras porque venden el chocolate para derretir, y con un buen congelador podría estar lista en minutos (posiblemente sería bueno combinar esta idea con un sistema de ordenes en línea, digamos que planeas ir al cine y se te antoja un chocolate 70% con arándanos y almendras; entras a Internet, compras tus boletos, ordenas tu chocolate y está listo).

El emprendedor posiblemente necesita ser un entusiasta de los dulces y tener un buen ojo para combinar sabores, hacer sugerencias y diseñar un buen menú. Algunos ingredientes que considero debería tener:

Turn abandoned mall spaces into business incubators / Transformar centros comerciales abandonados en incubadoras de negocios

In many growing cities, it is normal for "hip" places to be quickly replaced by a newer option. I've seen it happen often: you go to a once cool place, and is abandoned and dying. I think it would be good to turn this spaces into incubators for several reasons:

1. They are normally "easy to get there" places (city centric or by public transportation, which helps both the entrepreneurs and the clients). 
2. The infrastructure is already there: parking spaces, electricity, bathrooms, etc.
3. People (potential clients) are familiar with the location, so it's an easy reference (we are located in Mall X where the Store Y used to be).
4. The owners of the building can keep getting an income from the space (yes, it may be less than what they used to make, but it wouldn't be a total waste)
5. Owners would be promoting entrepreneurship. This is the most important one: if you want to increase the purchasing power of a community, entrepreneurship is the way to go, it creates jobs and attracts investment (it can also make them look good by doing something nice).
6. It can also be an opportunity for other kind of businesses to set up in the mall (coffee shops, day care, office supplies, you name it).

I think this is a good balance for people who are looking to start a company and people who have spaces that aren't being used.

En muchas ciudades en crecimiento es normal que los lugares de moda sean rápidamente reemplazados por nuevas opciones. Lo he visto suceder con frecuencia: vas a un lugar que solía ser popular y lo encuentras abandonado y decayendo. Creo que sería muy bueno transformar estos lugares en incubadoras de negocios por varias razones:

1. Son lugares de "fácil acceso" (son céntricos o se puede llegar en transporte público, lo que es de gran ayuda para los emprendedores y los clientes).
2. La infraestructura que se requiere ya está ahí (estacionamiento, electricidad, baños, etc).
3. Las personas (posibles clientes) conocen la ubicación, así que es una referencia fácil (estamos en el Centro Comercial X donde solía estar la Tienda Y).
4. Los dueños de los centros comerciales siguen teniendo un ingreso de los espacios (sí, posiblemente menos de lo que solían generar, pero no se perdería por completo).
5. Los dueños estarían promoviendo el inicio de negocios. Esta es la más importante: si se quiere revitalizar una comunidad, el emprendimiento es la forma de hacerlo; se crean trabajos y se atrae inversión (posiblemente también los hace ver bien que hagan algo bueno por la sociedad).
6. Puede ser una oportunidad para que otros negocios se establezcan en el centro comercial (cafeterías, guarderías, papelerías, lo que se les ocurra).

Creo que es un buen equilibrio para quienes buscan empezar una empresa y quienes tienen espacios que no se están utilizando.

Fictional business you could make true! / Negocios ficticios, ¡que podrías realizar!

A while back I read a book called "The Club of Queer Trades" by Gilbert Keith Chesterton, in which a man discovers various businesses that were unique and not based on any other businesses already existent before. I thought some of the businesses were not a bad idea and perhaps you could also take some inspiration from these and other fictional businesses. Here's some examples:

From "The Club of Queer Trades" (spoiler alert: if you want to read the book, skip over to the next section)

• Adventure agency: if you've seen the movie "The Game", you know the concept. It's about crafting adventures or experiences for the clients, providing thrill.
• Delay agency: another service that allows clients to ask to distract someone (if, for example, you want your annoying colleague to not go to a crucial meeting, they'll distract him for as long as you pay).
• A "make you look witty" service: Here, the client pays to be trained to look smart or witty in social setting (so to make you popular). The service includes an actor that will help you get to the conversation points you practiced.
• Unusual living spaces: This is sort of an architecture firm that creates living spaces in unusual locations, like atop a tree. For clients who wish to live closer to nature.

From the movie Hitch

• A personalized "love" service. To help people get a chance with a potential life mate.

From Fight Club

• Well, a fight club. Another interesting service I've seen is "ZombieFit" (this actually exists), where people can train and workout to learn how to escape from zombies.

From The Simpsons

• Duff beer (already being done somewhere in the world)
• A store for the left handed 
• Pre-trained pet dogs

From The Island

• Interactive directories (specially in tourist-y cities)
• Ice cream cart (or any other food cart) that takes credit cards

From The Fifth Element

• Bunker style micro apartments
• Automated driver's licences
• Inter-car communication device 

From Minority Report

• Arcade venue for grown-ups (there's also one in Sex and the City, but I'm not sure it really exists). Another concept I liked is one I saw in Stockholm: coloring books for grown ups (complex drawings, vintage themes like Star Wars).

From The Jetsons

• Use of augmented reality to look better on video calls
• Moving walkways for private housing 

Let me know if you remember any other cool fictional concept (FEASIBLE, I know a teleporter would be great, but technology is not here yet. Though if you do develop it, you could be very very rich).

Hace algún tiempo leí un libro llamado "El club de los negocios raros" de Gilbert Keith Chesterton (puedes descargarlo en la liga), en el que un hombre descubre varios negocios que eran completamente nuevos y únicos, no estaban basados en ningún otro negocio que ya existiera antes de ellos. Algunos de los conceptos me parecieron interesantes y creo que tu también podrías tomar como inspiración algún negocio ficticio. Aquí tienes algunos ejemplos.

• Agencia de aventuras: si ya viste la película de El juego, conoces el concepto; es una agencia para crear aventuras para los clientes, usualmente aventuras que crean emoción.
• Agencia de retrasos: otro servicio que permite a los clientes contratar una distracción para alguien más (si, por ejemplo, quieres que tu compañero de trabajo molesto no vaya a una reunión importante, la agencia le creará una distracción por el tiempo que pagues).
• Un servicio para hacerte ver ingenioso: este servicio ayuda a los clientes a parecer inteligentes e ingeniosos en situaciones sociales (para aumentar tu popularidad). El servicio incluye un actor que te ayudará a llegar a los puntos conversacionales que practicaste.
• Viviendas inusuales: esta es una agencia de arquitectura/construcción enfocada a personas que busquen locaciones inusuales (por ejemplo, en la cima de un árbol); para clientes que buscan vivir más cerca de la naturaleza.

• Establecimiento con videojuegos para adultos (un concepto similar también aparece en Sexo en la Ciudad, pero no estoy segura de que exista). Otro concepto que vi en Estocolmo es libros para colorear para adultos (dibujos complejos, temas vintage como la Guerra de las Galaxias).

De Los Supersónicos

• Uso de realidad aumentada para verte bien en las video-llamadas
• Uso de bandas transportadoras en las casas 

Avísame si recuerdas algún otro concepto ficticio interesante (y que sea POSIBLE, sé que un teletransportador sería muy bueno, pero la tecnología aún no llega ahí. Por supuesto, si lo desarrollas, podrías hacerte muy muy rico).

Easy Movie Theater / Cine fácil

I lived in Sweden a year and I've been living in Spain four months now. And in all that time, I haven't been to the movies once. It's just too expensive for students or people on a budget (like entrepreneurs). I think there is a way to reduce overhead and make it cheaper for people. I think people would go even more. The idea is to create an "Easy" (borrowed from EasyJet and EasyHotels) Movie Theater where people could buy their tickets online, print them, use a barcode scanner to get into the theater (or you could use ATMs to sell the tickets at the entrance), and the concesion stand could be a 7/11 (or another convenience store chain) outside the theater.

The advantages of this is that you could save a lot of money in salaries and it would also be possible to extend the service hours (midnight shows, open on holidays, you get the idea).  

Some time ago I had also thought about having a People's Choice day, where people could choose the movie one day of the week, or the month. It could be old movies (like The Exorcist, StarWars, Back to the Future) that we would love to watch on the big screen again.

If you want to start this business, I think an easier way to do this would be to rent a facility, buy some IKEA sofas, a projector and a good surround system and get started with the oldies, there's definitely a market. Then go from there!

Viví en Suecia durante un año y he estado viviendo en España por cuatro meses; en todo este tiempo, no he ido al cine una sola vez. Simplemente es demasiado caro para estudiantes o personas que viven con un presupuesto limitado (como los emprendedores). Me parece que hay formas de reducir los gastos fijos y así lograr captar más mercado. La idea es crear un Cine "Fácil" (como EasyJet, Vivaaerobus, etc.) donde las personas pudieran comprar sus boletos en línea, imprimirlos y utilizar un lector de código de barras para entrar (o incluso podrían ser cajeros en la entrada) y se tuviera un 7/11 (u otra cadena de tiendas de conveniencia) afuera del teatro para comprar dulces, palomitas, refrescos, etc. 

La ventaja de esto es que podrías ahorrar mucho en salarios y también sería posible extender el horario de servicio (funciones de media noche, abrir en festivos). 

Hace algún tiempo también había pensado que sería bueno que los cines ofrecieran cine a la carta una noche a la semana o al mes, donde las personas pudieran votar para elegir una película que les gustaría volver a ver en la pantalla grande (como El Exorcista, La Guerra de las Galaxias, Volver al futuro). 

Si quieres empezar este negocio, creo que una forma más sencilla sería empezar sería rentar un local, comprar sillones de IKEA, un proyector, un buen sistema de sonido y empezar con un club de cine (podría ser con películas clásicas), en definitiva hay un mercado para esto. ¡Y sigue desde ahí! 

Mobile gym / Gimnasio móvil

Companies like Google and Facebook pamper their employees with super comfortable work spaces, which include cafeterias, play rooms, gyms and more. Nevertheless, most companies around the world don't have the financial capabilities to offer these perks. But what if you could rent a mobile gym? You could serve several companies in one geographical area by distributing available times and companies would gain happier, healthier employees.

The idea is to equip a trailer or truck with basic training machines and a locker room (where people can shower and go back to work) and have trainers to aid gym-goers. The investment would probably be a little less than a regular gym, and if you are a trainer (if you are, for example, an aerobics, yoga, pilates or kickbox teacher) you could start by offering individual courses and go from there!

Empresas como Google y Facebook ponen la barra muy alta para las demás empresas en el mundo en cuanto a cómo consienten a sus empleados, les ofrecen instalaciones cómodas, cafeterías, áreas de ocio, gimnasios y más. Sin embargo, la mayoría de las empresas alrededor del mundo no tienen la capacidad financiera para ofrecer estos beneficios a sus empleados. Pero, podría haber una opción: rentar gimnasios móviles, asignando horarios a las diferentes empresas. De esta forma, varias empresas en un área geográfica delimitada podrían beneficiarse con empleados más sanos y contentos.

La idea es equipar un trailer o camión con máquinas de entrenamiento y un vestuario (donde los empleados puedan tomar un baño antes de regresar a trabajar), además de entrenadores que asistan a los deportistas. La inversión sería posiblemente un poco menos que abrir un gimnasio normal, y si eres un entrenador profesional (de aerobics, yoga, pilates, kickbox, etc.), podrías empezar ofreciendo cursos individuales e ¡ir creciendo!

Garlic saver / Salva-ajos

My husband and I like to cook, sometime we make chicken soup or other meals which include garlic in the recipe, but then you have to locate the clove to avoid bitting it. I think it would be nice to have a garlic saver to make it easier to pull the garlic from the pot with something similar to the tea infusers (example here).

I think the mesh should be a little bigger and you can live without the little chain, it's just to make it easier to locate.

A mi esposo y a mi nos gusta cocinar; a veces hacemos cosas como caldo de pollo, el cual incluye ajo en la cocción, pero después tienes que localizarlo y retirarlo antes de servir para evitar morderlo. Creo que sería una buena idea tener un salva-ajos para ayudarte a sacar el ajo de la comida, algo parecido a los infusores de té (algo como esto).

Me parece que se tendrían que hacer algunos ajustes, como que la malla sea más grande y posiblemente no necesite la cadena. Es solo para facilitar localizar y retirar.

Rain detector / Detector de lluvia

Imagine you have clothes hanging to dry, then it slowly starts to rain, but you're watching tv or listening to music on your iPod (or iPhone), and when you realize, the rain has started to pour. I know in the States most people have a dryer, but here in Bilbao there's not a lot of space and the electricity is expensive, so many of us have to hang dry our clothes. Also, it rains a lot. Sometimes very unexpectedly. I would very gladly purchase a rain detector (with an alarm), that would beep when wet, or if you wanna make it smarter, beep when wet AND have clothes hanging AND I'm home.

I guess it could have some additional uses, maybe doing some research somewhere where it rains a lot you could find other uses for it.

Imagina que tienes tu ropa en el tendedero para que se seque; tu estás viendo televisión o escuchando música en tu iPod (o iPhone), y cuando te das cuenta, ya está lloviendo a cántaros. Sé que en Estados Unidos la gran mayoría de las personas tienen secadoras, pero aquí en Bilbao no hay mucho espacio para poner una y la electricidad es costosa, por lo que la mayoría de las personas tenemos que colgar nuestra ropa al sol. También llueve mucho, a veces inesperadamente. Yo gustosamente compraría un detector de lluvia que me avisara cuando se moje; incluso mejor si es un poco inteligente y avise cuando: se moja Y tengo ropa tendida Y estoy en casa.

Creo que este detector podría tener otros usos, solo habría que hacer un poco de investigación en alguna ciudad donde llueva mucho.

If you've ever been living in a hospital with a relative, you will probably understand this concept. Most of the times, we get there unexpectedly and have to stay there with someone. In public hospitals, sometimes you even have to bring your own supplies for you and the patient. And for private hospitals, you may find some of these in the gift shop, but they close! So, I think it would be good to have a vending machine with the following:

• Rubber slippers (so patients can take a shower)
• Disposable slippers (for visitors who need to change their shoes)
• Hand saniters
• Toilet paper
• Paper tissues (like Kleenex)
• Qtips
• Toothbrush
• Toothpaste
• Soap
• Combs
• Deodorant
• Wet wipes
• Inflatable pillows
• Aspirin
• Weight pillow (needed to weigh down the patient)
• Femenine hygiene products

Potential entrepreneur profile: has or can get a contact with a hospital administration, has money to invest.

Si alguna vez has estado viviendo en un hospital con un familiar, probablemente entiendes este concepto. Muchas veces llegamos a los hospitales inesperadamente y tenemos que quedarnos ahí. En hospitales públicos a veces se requiere que tu mismo traigas estos objetos para ti y tu familiar enfermo. Take a foreign concept! / ¡Toma una idea de otro país!

Far too often I find myself thinking: this would work great back home! So I snap a photo and put it on my list. Here are some examples of things I've seen and that could work in other settings (maybe where you live!). So take a look, get inspired and adapt!

1. Coloring books for grown ups (yes, some people like to color! I guess it could be therapeutic)
2. Warm cookie delivery (sort of like Domino's, but with hand made cookies)
3. High end hand made cosmetics (like Lush. Latinamerican countries have many natural resources and it could be also an organic, fair trade company)
4. High end convenience stores (I saw this in Paris, across the street from the Pompidou, it's great because you have better quality and it's quick to shop, good for busy business areas)
5. In Spain, the IKEA store in Barakaldo offers van rentals. I didn't see this in Sweden, but it would be great to have them!
6. 24 hour gym.People get inside using a card and code.
7. Chocolate with churros (first time I read this, I thought it was a misspell, in Mexico we have churros with chocolate, check out the picture below. I think this would rock in Mexico, maybe also in your  country people like chocolate and fried dough)

8. Convenience store in a vending machine (no employees full time, only delivery people. no place to clean up, less chance to get robbed)

Me pasa con frecuencia que veo un negocio y pienso que sería genial si alguien lo llevara a México, así que le tomo una foto y lo agrego a mi lista. Aquí les paso algunos ejemplos de negocios que creo que funcionarían en otros ambientes(¡posiblemente funcionarían donde vives tú!). Así que checa estas opciones, toma un poco de inspiración y ¡adapta la idea a tu mercado!

1. Libros de colorear para adultos (sí, a mucha gente le gusta colorear. Supongo que puede ser desestresante)
2. Galletitas calientes a domicilio (algo como Domino's Pizza, pero con galletas hechas a mano)
3. Línea de cosméticos de lujo hechos a mano (como Lush. Muchos países Latinoamericanos tienen recursos naturales, incluso podría tener el valor agregado de ser orgánico o de comercio justo)
4. Tiendas de conveniencia de lujo (ví una tienda así en Paris, frente al museo Pompidou, es interesante porque tiene productos de mejor calidad y es rápido para comprar, me parece una buena idea para áreas de negocio con muchos ejecutivos con prisa)
5. En España, la tienda IKEA de Barakaldo ofrece servicio de renta de camionetas tipo van. Nunca ví algo así en Suecia (lugar de origen de IKEA), pero me parece que sería algo muy útil.
6. Gimnasio abierto 24 horas. Los clientes entran utilizando una tarjeta y un código secreto.
7. Chocolate con churros (la primera vez que leí esto, pensé que estaba mal escrito, en México tenemos churros rellenos de chocolate, pero checa la foto. Creo que esto funcionaría en México, posiblemente en tu país a la gente también le gusta el chocolate y la masa frita)

8. Tiendas de conveniencia en una máquina expendedora (no necesitas empleados de tiempo completo, solo personal de entrega; no hay mucho que limpiar, menos posibilidades de un asalto)

Robot shopping cart / Carrito de compras robot

The world's population is aging and every day people's life span is increased. This brings a LOT of opportunities for new businesses, but in this post I'll only tell you about one. In Sweden we were living in the suburbs, many of our neighbors were elderly and we all use the public transport for our daily chores. Whenever we went to the supermarket, I watched frail ladies bend to put their groceries in their carts (and I presume they had to do this all over at home to put things away). I know there are robots which function enough to follow a person and to go up and down.

So this business idea is for someone who knows about mechanics, robotics, engineering or something in between. Make a cart, kind of like this one, but with the capability to follow their owner, and go up and down to make it easier to put and pull things. There is a good market and there will be a bigger one in a few years. Hey, I'd totally buy it!

La población del mundo está envejeciendo y cada día la esperanza de vida aumenta. Esto trae MUCHAS oportunidades para nuevos negocios, pero en esta publicación solamente discutiré una. Vivía en un suburbio de Suecia donde la mayoría de nuestros vecinos eran personas mayores y todos utilizábamos el transporte público para realizar tareas diarias. Cada vez que iba al supermercado, veía a viejecitas frágiles agachándose para guardar sus compras (y te aseguro que lo volvían a hacer en casa para guardarlas). Sé que hay robots lo suficientemente funcionales para realizar funciones básicas como seguir a alguien o moverse de arriba a abajo.

Esta idea de negocios es para alguien que sepa de mecánica, robótica, ingeniería o alguna combinación de esto. Hagan un carrito (algo como esto) que tenga la capacidad de seguir a su dueño, subir y bajar para facilitar poner y sacar cosas de ahí. Ya hay un buen mercado para esto, y te aseguro que habrá más en unos cuantos años. Oye, ¡yo lo compraría!

All year round seasonal pastry shop / Tienda de pastelillos estacionales

When I was living in Sweden, I noticed they have a variety of seasonal pastries that, come the season, are available everywhere. Which is great if you live there, but if you're visiting, you just hear about these amazing pastries and miss the chance to taste them. Examples:

I guess in many countries, the same thing happens, there are some special or traditional recipes you can only get a limited time a year (in Sweden this was true even for doughnuts!). But maybe there is an opportunity to sell traditional treats for tourists, and even post explanations about the traditions as a decoration, what do you think? Which traditional (and limited time) treats would you like to see year round?

Supongo que en muchos países sucede igual, hay algunas recetas tradicionales que únicamente se consiguen en determinada época del año (¡esto pasaba en Suecia hasta con las donas regulares!). Going back to the being green and reading, I do think there is an opportunity for a store (or even a vending machine, like redbox) in airports that rent out stuff you might need waiting in the airport, in flight or during your vacations (waterproof books for the beach, for example). Regresando al tema de ser "ecológico" y leer, creo que hay una oportunidad para una tienda (podría incluso ser un dispensador automático, como las utilizadas por redbox) en los aeropuertos donde se puedan rentar objetos para utilizar durante la espera, el vuelo o las vacaciones (libros a prueba de agua para las vacaciones en la playa, por ejemplo). Podría ser también una compra con opción a renta, te explico: el cliente compra el libro, lo utiliza durante sus vacaciones y cuando vaya de regreso, puede devolver el libro y  recuperar parte de su inversión.

Otros artículos para rentar: reproductores de DVD portátiles, consolas de videojuego portátiles, computadoras tipo tablet con algunas películas pre-cargadas para ver durante la espera.

Peer to peer book rental website / Sitio de renta de libros entre particulares

Imagine a mix breed between Netflix and eBay, but for books. I love books, but sometimes it aches me to pay (in the last case 22 EUR) to read a book I know I'll only read once and then dust away in my bookshelf (or in an obscure storage box). There's still a great amount of people who like to read books in a printed format, but this would have the added benefit of also being "green" (less books printed). To make it even greener, you could set up reading clubs where the idea is to exchange the goods locally.

Potential entrepreneur profile: someone who loves books, paired with someone who knows how to setup and mantain a website.

Time-share for appliances / Tiempo compartido de electrodomésticos

Living spaces in Europe are expensive, in Spain I pay three times as much for an apartment here than I would in Mexico... for half the space. So, when it comes to storing stuff, there's not much space to waste. So, storing appliances you rarely use is something to consider carefully. To make things easier (and cheaper), I was thinking about a business idea: time share appliances. You know, stuff like really big vacuum cleaners, maybe a bread maker, a margarita blender. This could be done in two ways:

1. Set up a website where people can create their own groups, set their own goals, maybe charge for subscription. Or,
2. Set up your own store, rent your own appliances (like Hertz does with cars). You could even start by renting out stuff you alredy have and might be useful for others. Even better if you currently have an appliance store, this could add a business model to your offer (and get you some additional revenues).

Las viviendas en Europa son caras. En España pago el triple de renta por la mitad del espacio que tendría en México. Por eso, la gente duda en comprar algo que tomaría espacio para guardar (y posiblemente no es algo que se usaría diario). Para hacer las cosas más sencillas (y baratas), creo que se podría utilizar el modelo de negocios conocido como "tiempo compartido". Se podrían compartir electrodomésticos que se utilizan ocasionalmente (como aspiradoras grandes, licuadoras para margaritas, waffleras, etc.). Se me ocurren dos formas de realizar esto:

1. Crear un sitio web donde las personas organicen sus propios grupos, establezcan sus propias necesidades de electrodomésticos y cobrar por suscripción. O...
2. Poner una tienda propia de renta (estilo Hertz para carros). Podrías empezar rentando cosas que ya tienes y pueden ser útiles para otras personas. Si tienes una tienda de electrodomésticos, podrías agregar este modelo de negocios a tu oferta y así incrementar tus líneas de ingresos. 

Retro fitness club / Gimnasio retro

Every tuesday and thursday I attend a beginner aerobics class (because the last time I went before that was 7 years ago). The demographic is pretty varied: fifteen year olds to -I calculate- sixty something year olds, with most of us in the middle. The teacher is really cool and blasts up the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta (see video below), which is great for me. 

Still, I can see the faces of the more experienced a little disgruntled about the loudness (guess they're probably not too happy about the lyrics and music either). So the idea is to have a fitness club where the music is not so loud and the teachers play The Beatles, Olivia Newton John, Donna Summer or other retro musicians (see video below).

Potential entrepreneur profile: likes fitness, you could start with one class in a rented room and then go from there. If you already have a gym, you could allocate a schedule (early bird gym?).

You'll need: knowledge on cardio (CPR maybe?), space, a good music mix.

Cada martes y jueves voy a una clase de aerobics para principiantes (porque han pasado 7 años desde la última vez que fui). La clase es muy variada, desde chicas de 15 años a jóvenes de 60 y tantos (yo calculo); la mayoría estamos en algún punto intermedio. La maestra es muy buena y nos pone coreografías al ritmo de Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas y David Guetta (puedes ver un video abajo), que a mí me encantan.

Pero siempre noto que algunas jóvenes con mucha experiencia no están demasiado contentas con el alto volúmen (posiblemente tampoco les fascina la letra de las canciones y el ritmo de la música). La idea sería tener un gimnasio donde el volúmen de la música no sea tan alto y las clases se den al ritmo de los Beatles, Olivia Newton John, Donna Summer u otros músicos retro.

Perfil del emprendedor potencial: le gusta el acondicionamiento físico, podrías empezar con una clase en un espacio en renta y crecer el negocio de ahí. Si ya tienes un gimnasio, podrías dedicar un horario para poner música retro.

Necesitarías: conocimiento de entrenamientos cardio (¿RCP, por si acaso?), espacio, una buena selección de música. 

 

Single portions supermarket / Supermercado con porciones individuales

Ok, so to start posting about my business ideas, I'll tell you about one I've had for years and think is a great opportunity for someone out there. The idea is a supermarket with single since portions, why? Because there's many of us who live alone or in a couple, we like to diversify in our meals and are willing to spend a little bit more on groceries. The problem is most packages are designed for families, which leaves us with 15 too many sushi sheets, so I end up not buying many things because I'm green and don't want to waste.


Potential entrepreneur profile: could be someone who already owns a convenience store, or someone with enough money to invest.

Bueno, para empezar a compartir mis ideas de negocios, les diré de una que he tenido por años y que creo que es una buena oportunidad para alguien ahí afuera. La idea es un supermercado con porciones individuales, ¿por qué? Porque hay muchas personas que vivimos solos o en pareja, nos gusta variar en nuestra comida y estamos dispuestos a pagar un poco más en el supermercado. El problema es que la mayoría de los empaques están pensados para familias, lo cual nos deja con 15 hojas de sushi de más. Muchas veces termino no comprando algo que se me antoja porque prefiero no desperdiciar.
